The workshop offers a spectrum of innovative, vigorous practices
plus Techniques For Approaching And Experiencing Serenity--
half devoted to the study of exhilarating asana and half to
wonders
of the realm of cerebral experimentation and observation found
in pranayama

to bring the practitioner to a similar place -- an acute awareness
of that
which is. And with perseverance and luck we'll find that both
kinds of discipline have much to impart to the other.
So, imagine if you will, a class that is split between stimulating
vinyasa variations and precise pranayama -- both dedicated

GRAVITY AND GRACE: Yoga for finding your inner teacher.
Part I Saturday, December 8 1-4pm
Part II Sunday, December 9th 1-4pm, 2007
If you are approaching the practice of hatha yoga for the first time or you
are a seasoned “veteran”, each day begins the same – listening
to a quiet inner voice deep inside which poses the question, “what
can I do today to bring a little more freedom and intelligence into my life?” During
this weekend of yoga, we will explore how gravity influences our practice
and discover the principles of non-muscular effort, which strengthen our
intuition and provides us with a personal experience of the feeling minds
(heart and navel centers). This experience is essential for a yoga practice,
which prepares you for the magical experience of Grace, and the development
of your own personal "inner teacher". Classes during the workshop
will be progressive (step-by-step) in nature and appropriate for all levels.
Peter Sterios is an internationally recognized yoga
teacher whose teaching reflects over 30 years of study in the US and
India. His yoga practice began as therapy for numerous sports injuries,
and is a unique style of hatha yoga, inspired by chi-gung and south
Indian dance. He is a writer for Yoga Journal and the CEO of Manduka,
a leading yoga products company. (www.manduka.com)

prime yourself for every category of asana. The class incorporates movements
from Jill's signature "Core Integration" series as well as effective
joint mobilization techniques based on orthopedic physical therapy. Jill also
presents stimulating adjunct practices to help you wake up a stale practice.
No matter which hatha discipline you prefer, a Yoga Tune Up playfully offers
you the nuts and bolts of basic movement while refining your yogic awareness.
Saturday November 4th - Core Integration: A Total Abdominal
Awakening
9:30-12:30 PM
Access the deepest part of your core and welcome its ecstatic potential. Core
Integration is a yoga-based workshop specifically addressing issues lodged
deep inside your core, not only physical, but also emotional and spiritual.
Unlock the power of your center and reconnect to the stories buried within.
This series of extraordinarily deep abdominal exercises strengthens you from
inside out and is designed to penetrate weak muscle fibers, awaken sluggish
organs, stretch scar tissue and cultivate vibrancy throughout your nervous
system. The class intelligently presents a vast array of abdominopelvic exercises
reconnecting you to your belly in a thoroughly conscious way.
Saturday November 4th - Hip, Hip, Hooray! Hip Openers
for Everyone!
1:30-3:30 PM
Locked hips wreak havoc on the practicing yogi. How often do you get stuck
in a Warrior Lunge? Or feel totally congested in Bada Konasana? Tight hamstrings
lead to back pain and postural imbalances, while bound hip flexors limit abdominal
strength and backbend fluidity. Even hyper mobile students have issues with
stability. Jill specializes in opening these blocked areas so that movement
becomse effortless.
About Jill Miller (www.jillmilleryoga.com):
Jill is a highly sought after teacher. With more than two decades of yoga
practice, her expertise directs her students into a profound yet confounding
simple awareness of their inner landscape. Her teaching involves deep
excursions into embodied inner anatomy; students wake up their potential for
feeling and healing. She has an uncanny ability to identify her students'
obstructions while arming them with the tools to rebuild shut down
neurological pathways. Her classes are loaded with introspection coupled
with play.
Jill created the very popular "Core Integration- A Total Abdominal
Awakening." For eight years, she has taught at The Omega Institute for
Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, NY, and leads workshops, retreats, and
demonstrations around the world. She has been featured in Yoga Journal,
Breathe, Fitness, and Natural Health magazines, and models for Gaiam.
The Los Angeles Times calls her "kinetically arresting." NPR created a news
story based on her breathing techniques. Jill has just released the first in
her DVD series Yoga Tune Up™.
Miller's exhaustive anatomical knowledge transforms her class into a mini-physical
therapy session. -Breathe Magazine

How do we discover our hidden strengths and let go of our apparent weaknesses?
How can we learn to be supported by the powerful streams of life, instead of
struggling so hard to get ahead, or just to stay afloat?
These classes will offer a unique blend of visual, auditory, verbal and
body-centered techniques for accessing personal power. The classes provide
an instructional and experiential context for understanding the flow of “energy.”
The series will be team taught by Nicholas Corrin, L.Ac. The step-by-step approach
will enhance your awareness of flow systems in your body, heart, and mind and
reveal how connected we all are to nature and to the cosmos. Each class will
build on insights developed from the previous one, and will help you identify
at your own pace which obstacles may be damming up the power of your inner currents.
You will discover how to remove these obstacles to your personal power. Releasing
the free-flow of your inner currents is the key to fulfillment. |

Joint Health II
Understand the joint system in the yogic tradition. How can we re-open these
gateways of our skeletal structure, free up blockages and surpass our current
restrictions and limits? Our joints are key junctures both for the flow of
prana through the body and also for our sense of deep connection to the body.
The re-mobilization of our joints can enhance the flow of pranic energy through
the limbs and torso. We will learn sequences that will increase multiple mobility
and potency in each joint in our body. This practice serves to release blockages
in both our physical and subtle bodies. You will experience restored vitality
and fluency to all areas of body, heart, and spirit.
