Curriculum Overview
Technique training/practice
- Practical Classes: Asana, Vinyasa, Pranayama, Meditation
- Asana Lab: position, names, alignment, physical benefits, and energetic effects
- Pranayama I, II: it’s science, techniques and properties, practices, teaching pranayama, dynamic pranayama in vinyasa
- Meditation: inner practice, visualization, healing meditation
- Yoga Nidra: theory and practice
- Sanskrit: foundation of pronunciation, names of asana / body parts pronunciation, yoga related vocabularies & terminology
- Mantra / Nada Yoga: Voice & Chanting workshop, Bija mantra, finding personal mantra, voice in teaching
- Kyria Yoga, Bandhas, Mudra, Yantra
- Working with injuries. Adjustments, Therapeutic aspect in teaching. Yoga as a tool for healing
- Intro to Yoga: teaching yoga to beginners, lessons plan
Teaching methodology
- Sequencing lab: Analytical study of the body mechanics, Joint system (list of asana for multi-direction development of all joints), Traditional Sequencing and body mechanics, Sequencing as a poetry / the tempo of a class
- The energetic effect of the practice, the beat of the practice: what you need to orchestrate a class.
- The laboratory of your practice (Svadhyaya)
- Ways to record asana notes and your “research projects”
- Yogi Way Dynamics: Asana, vinyasa, pranayama, multi-direction practice, spatial mandala (mandala vinyasa)
- Lesson Plan in relationship to the flow of season / nature
- Specialized subjects: Private instruction, Kids Yoga, Family Yoga Teen Yoga, Bhakti Vinyasa, Karma Vinyasa project
- Teaching style and methods I
- The Bhava/Rasa of a session/ teaching as a performance: atmosphere, teacher’s presence, music, theme presentation, voice, finding you authentic voice, how to establish your presence through speech, choice of language), your role as a guide (inner recognition and outer presentation)

Program Requirements
In addition to weekend group intensives, trainees will
also be required to:
- Attend 2-3 weekly asana classes in addition to teacher
training asana intensives
- Complete all homework, reading assignments and outside course work
- Complete a research & thesis project
- Must achieve passing grade on all tests and exams
- Maintain 100% attendance record
- Participate in teaching practicum, which includes teaching classes,
critiques and reviews
