Vinyasa Yoga

We initiate each practice from breath awareness, and then strive to create a sense of integration by linking the flow of the breath to the movement of our limbs (mind/body connection). We encourage students to practice wisely, always honoring the current condition of the body. The dynamic practice warms you up with sun salutations and moves towards a dynamic, fluid flow sequences.

This class offers a solid foundation to work on inner stability and balance, and to develop your familiarity with the yoga language and Sanskrit terms.

Level II classes often begin with a variation of sun salutations, warming the body for a dynamic multi-directional practice in the Vinyasa flow style. This level emphasizes correct alignment. This class is fun for students who are ready to explore some arm balances, backbends and inversions. You will go deeper into your practice by exploring core breath techniques and utilizing the bandhas. Expect to sweat.

By moving through breaths and poses this is a rejuvenating flow that serves to awaken our energy and vitality in the morning.

User friendly for beginners and enjoyable for all levels.

Mandala Vinyasa
A symbol of cosmic consciousness

Mandala- n. Any of various ritualistic geometric designs symbolic of the universe.
Learn and rejoice in the art of body prayer. Without any geographical limitation, our one-mat floor provides the open ground for such creative configuration. Each practitioner breathes and turns in space as a single unit, while the formation of the group also “breathes” and “spins” in a circular motion as a larger mandala unit. The root of this practice relates to the sub-style of Universal Yoga (multidirectional and digital-balance sequencing). It continues to evolve, inspired by the orchestration in nature (eg. a flock of birds, flowing water, etc.) and principles of sacred geometry (eg. healing mandala's and crop circles).

Bhakti Vinyasa

Like everything in life, Yoga is a gift to humanity, given by the Creators. Therefore, we are nourished when we remember and hold the highest appreciation for the Divine. This one-pointed devotional focus is the root of Bhakti. Tradition teaches that the yogi is purified by the intensity of his/her devotional fire. The class typically begins with a short lecture to inspire your reconnection to the Divine Essence. This vinyasa practice is fiery and contemplative with a strong cultivation mindfulness.

Karma Vinyasa~ Yogis for Social Change!

When our consciousness grows so tender, we strive to prevent suffering and cease to avenge” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Our Karma Vinyasa classes are donation-only classes that take place year round, usually occurring in celebration of major holidays, solstices and equinoxes. Established in 2003 by Seattle's own Katerina Wen, this practice involves gathering a community of yogis together for a ritualistic and inspiring vinyasa & meditation practice. Gathering together as a group generates a powerful positive vibration for the peace and healing of ourselves, our neighbors & our environment.

100% of the proceeds are donated to local and international non-profit children organizations. These programs provide amazing services to children in need and your small donation to Karma Vinyasa goes a very long way with these organizations. Some of our favorite organizations include:

Teen Yoga Series

Strength, Balance & Power!
Our teen yoga class is a guided flow of Asanas (poses) in combination with breath work and deep concentration. During this process, teens often develop a clearer attention, better body awareness and a greater sense of self-confidence. By discovering the inner resources within, teens are more equipped to deal with the dynamic & challenging experiences of daily life.

One of the noticeable benefits of this practice is the overall well being of physical health. In particular, yoga can be a great support for the maturation of the inner organs and stretching will also reduce common growing pains. Adolescents begin to feel more comfortable within their own skin as they develop physical strength, endurance, and flexibility. This vigorous routine provides teenagers with an alternative way to redirect their spurts of energy and offers them a healthy and challenging way to experiment, to push boundaries and thus gain a sense of achievement.

No prior yoga experience or athletic experience is required to participate!

Pre-registration required. See workshop page for details.
