"Alyssa Casasa is a fabulous family yoga instructor. She has a natural connection with children and calmly guides them, each week, through a different adventure with asana, imagination and storytelling. Family yoga exercises children’s bodies, but more important, it allows their wiggly little bodies to reach a point where they are able to relax. This skill is something that is marvelous in class but is also usable outside of class because of the positive experience that Alyssa has created for the children." ~JC
"How can I find the words to describe Alyssas talents for sharing yoga with children? Her connection to children is remarkable. Finding her has been a true gift to my family. Her classes are fun, mindful, challanging and inspiring. Each class begins with a circle with the children sharing something important to them or about themselves. The practice then moves to circle-formation yoga poses and to a VERY active animal mimicking "get your ya-ya's out" exercises. As possible, the kids move on to some advance poses (such as handstand) and perhaps some type of obstacle course with bolsters and blocks. Finally there is an abreviated period of shava-asana (which even my 3-year old boy can do) followed by a story. My kids (who are 6, 3 and 1) and I have been taking Alyssa's classes for almost two years. It is one of the few activities that I can do with all three of my children. It is a wonderfully active and meditative time for us all and I can not imagine any of it being possible without Alyssa." ~DL
